Hennepin County Flying Cloud Drive

Chanhassen, Minnesota

CSAH 61 / Flying Cloud is a 3.6 mile long roadway reconstruction project extending from Charlson Road in Eden Prairie and Highway 101 in Chanhassen. The roadway is located adjacent to the Minnesota River floodplain and traverses along the foot of the river bluffs over streams, wetland, and prairie. The project involves a land-bridge, four major box culverts, numerous culverts, urban drainage networks, roadway side ditches, swales along the retaining walls, permanent stormwater BMPs, and slope protection measures during and post the construction.

HZ United served as the lead drainage and environmental compliance engineer for the project. HZ United’s scope included watershed analysis, final drainage design, roadside grading design, agency review, and design support during construction.
