TH 494 Design-Build

Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Plymouth, MN

The project increased the road capacity of I-494 by adding an additional lane in each direction for approximately 8 miles within the cities of Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, and Plymouth, and included reconstruction of 3 interchanges with minimal detouring. Work included collecting existing sign inventory, estimating traffic control, lighting, signage, and signal preliminary quantities and cost estimates. During the final design phase, HZ United led all aspects of the traffic control design, prepared layouts, special provisions, and modifications to accommodate construction.
