CITY OF MINNEAPOLIS 2ND AND MARQUETTE AVENUE

MINNEAPOLIS, MN

The project involved reconstruction of 2nd Avenue and Marquette Avenue between 1st Street and 12th Street to improve transit conditions in downtown Minneapolis. The project created two bus lanes and two traffic lanes, wider sidewalks, new transit shelters, additional trees, and attractive landscape and streetscape.

The roadway design included substantial effort in geometric and grading refinements to ensure matching between the proposed roadway and the existing features, such as building entrance, utility castings, and cross roadways. The project also required the reconstruction pedestrian ramps for access improvements and ADA compliance.
